Each country to give 10 Euros to enable us to buy prizes.   The prizes are to be bought back in the home countries to save carrying luggage, etc.

Reminder of Ulla’s celebration and colleague evaluation meeting in July (around 19^th) for anyone wishing to come to Berlin at the Summer.  

Volksschule Mils bei Imst - Work to December 2013

Main Tasks:

•  Experiments with salt – children of different ages work together
• Learning about Europe – making a “Comenius wall” with maps, flags and postcards
• Learning about salt mines in Austria
• Comenius song
• Making blossom salt with blossoms from the school garden
• Decorating bottles for the blossom salt
• Working round the word “SALT”
• Making Salt Coins – learning about the value of salt in old times (salar)
• Creating posters
• Using salt in art – salt pictures

Grundschule im Beerwinkel- Done to December 2013

Main tasks and results:

• Comenius meeting in Italy (May13).
• Producing the audioplay "Saltways" in a workshop with Ken and Nadine (Aug.13)
• Preparing a "Day of Salt" for the whole school in spring by the Comenius- Club
• Visit to Kobrin /Belarus with Nadine for  workshop (Oct.13)
• Making  items for the Christmas market: Salt dough-hangers,  scented salt,
• Organising the Christmas Market stalls etc
• Organising the meeting 3^rd -8^th December for all countries inclusive children for Christmas Market  
• Upgrading the website continuously

“Chiara e Francesco d’Assisi Primary School Cantù
Work to December 2013

Main Tasks:

• Refering to the story the pupils created in May 2013 with Khudela, we prepared different "welcome activities" in Sept for the beginning of the school year. The "Lariosauro" had been the main character of the activities so all the pupils could learn the plot of the story for the Italian part of the e-book. Pupils invented crosswords, acrostics, puzzles, riddles, a short drama... to propore to the very youngest.
• Revision of Europe and the countries involved into the Comenius project "Salt of the Earth"
• Whole school talked about Salt, the project, looking at photos and at the common website.
• Making Salt dough Xmas objects for the Christmas Market in Berlin.
• Making Salt dough Xmas objects for a “benefaction market” organized by parents at school. Each object has got a tag with the title of the project, the name of the school and the common website address.
• Preparing a powerpoint composition with the research about the history of the Salt and the Ancient Romans, the oldest students did last school year, to be published onto the website.
• Preparing a “How to” booklet
• In the first parents’ meeting we presented Comenius project “Salt of the Earth” to the new parents of the school.
